If no answer is shown from Yates County, then no answer has been received, to the best of our knowledge. It is NOT necessary to have received an answer before sending the letter to this website for posting. Letters are posted in the discretion of the administrator.
Some property owners believe if their questions are not answered, that they may presume on the most favorable positions reasonably advanced in their inquiry. We neither agree nor disagree with such position. Each property owner, however, should consult with his or her own attorney, and no legal advice is intended to be rendered on this site.
Moreover, any response from the County may also be in error, either due to misinterpretation of the Law, or to lack of resolution of the pending lawsuit. It is believed that an opinion rendered by Yates County to one property owner, whether posted or not, does not have the force to bind other property owners, and each owner is strongly urged to write and ask the same question if it pertains to his or her property or obligations under the law.
Property owners are encouraged to proceed with caution and proper counsel.
In the following "drop-down" menu, a Q means one or more questions asked by a property owner. The reader may have some of the same questions. Don't wait for an answer to appear. If you have the same question, you should WRITE to Bonnie Percy, Treasurer of Yates County. If "A&Q" is shown, it means an answer has been received from Yates County, and is shown before (i.e. above) the letter which was originally sent. If "Q&A" is shown after an entry, it means the question is shown first, and then the answer from Yates County. For more discussion of the meaning of a particular answer, please post or see posts in the Forum on this website.
Posting letters on this website does NOT constitute official promulgation of any Yates County Law, interpretation or misinterpretation, or public notice of same.
